UKTV has released first look images of I, Jack Wright, an original crime drama due to air on Alibi, written by Chris Lang (The Thief, His Wife and the Canoe).
The suicide of successful businessman Jack Wright sends his already-fractured family into a tailspin. As if grieving wasn’t difficult enough, his third wife Sally and two sons are left reeling by the discovery that they have been largely left out of the will.
The police investigate Wright’s death, and begin to suspect foul play. When difficult questions emerge about members of the Wright family, decades’ worth of feuds and resentments bubble up to the surface.
Nikki Amuka-Bird (Citadel) stars as Sally, while Trevor Eve (A Discovery of Witches) plays the titular Jack. John Simm (Crime) and Daniel Rigby (The Witchfinder) play sons Gray and John. Gemma Jones (Gentleman Jack) and Ruby Ashbourne Serkis (The Serpent) appear as Rose and Emily Wright.
Also in the cast are Harry Lloyd (Game of Thrones) as DCI Hector Morgan, Liz Kingsman (Hijack) as DC Katie Jones and Rakhee Thakrar (Sex Education) as Laura Johnstone.
James Fleet (Bridgerton) appears as Bobby, Zoë Tapper (Liar) as Georgia Wright, Sabrina Bartlett (The Larkins) as Bella and Percelle Ascott (Domino Day) as Reuben.
In February, Chris Lang said: “Wills are extraordinary documents.”
“They can be used to punish, to reveal long buried secrets, to disinherit and destroy, as well as to bring succour, to affirm love, and make dreams come true. They are the most potent echo of the ended life, for good and for bad, and the will of Jack Wright is no exception – so buckle up, it’s going to be quite a ride!”
The show will be broadcast on Alibi in early 2025.
