Jamie Dornan and Danielle MacDonald will reprise their characters from series one, as their next adventure sees them swap the Australian outback for Dublin, Ireland.
Series one saw Elliot, played by Jamie Dornan (Belfast), wake up in an Australian hospital with no recollection of who he is or how he got there. With the help of Constable Helen and waitress Luci, played by Danielle MacDonald (Dumplin’) and Shalom Brune-Franklin (Great Expectations) respectively, Elliot is left reeling from the discoveries of his past, as the puzzle of his identity slowly comes together.
Series two will see Elliot and Helen travel to Dublin, Ireland to unearth Elliot’s roots and find out more about who he was before the accident.
Taking the roles of Elliot’s forgotten friends, foes and family are Olwen Fouéré (The Northman), Francis Magee (Justice League), Mark McKenna (One of Us is Lying), Diarmaid Murtagh (Outlander), and Nessa Matthews (Neon).
Conor MacNeill (Industry), will join the cast as detective Ruairi Slater, who becomes ensnared in a family crossfire as he begins to unravel some long-buried secrets.
Greg Larsen (Tonightly with Tom Ballard) will return to his role as Ethan Krum, Helen’s coercive fiancé who, in series one, mistakenly informed a hitman of the whereabouts of his wife-to-be, almost resulting in her death.
Series one of The Tourist is available to watch on BBC iPlayer, with series two expected to air on BBC One in early 2024.
