Paul Whitehouse (The Fast Show) is to take viewers on a guided tour through some of Britain’s best comedy in Paul Whitehouse’s Sketch Show Years.
The new show – commissioned by UKTV for Gold – will explore 60 years of sketch comedy, with each of the four episodes covering roughly one decade. Whitehouse will explore a variety of shows, from The Two Ronnies to The Catherine Tate Show. Classics like Not the Nine O’Clock News, The Fast Show and Harry Enfield & Chums will also feature.
Paul Whitehouse said: “I don’t generally describe myself as an expert in anything – but I suppose it’s fair to say if there’s one subject I do know a bit about, it’s sketch comedy – it’s been great going back over the classics and reminding myself what’s really made me laugh and inspired me the most since I was a kid.”
As well as The Fast Show, Whitehouse starred in Harry & Paul and Harry Enfield & Chums. He is also known for Mortimer & Whitehouse: Gone Fishing, as well as appearances in films, including The Personal History of David Copperfield and The Death of Stalin.
Paul Whitehouse’s Sketch Show Years will air in June 2024.
