The BBC has recommissioned Mortimer and Whitehouse: Gone Fishing for an eighth series.
The six-part series will reunite comedians Bob Mortimer (Vic Reeves Big Night Out) and Paul Whitehouse (The Death of Stalin) to explore more of Britain’s lakes, rivers and canals. Along the way, there’ll be the trademark blend of laughs and heartfelt discussion.
This time round, the show will be even more personal. Each location has been chosen because it has a connection to Mortimer or Whitehouse’s life.
Ted, a Patterdale Terrier and another mainstay of the show, will also be returning to wreak havoc on the boys’ fishing plans.
“I’m looking forward to visiting old haunts from my younger years as Paul and I will be travelling back in time for this series, going to fish in places which shaped our lives,” said Mortimer.
“I can’t wait to get back to Gone Fishing with that other bloke in tow,” said Whitehouse.
“We’re so happy to welcome Paul and Bob back for another slice of fishing, friendship and riverbank philosophy,” BBC Commissioning Editor Patrick McMahon said. “Following their adventures and spending time in their company is always a treat, and this series promises to be the most personal and pleasurable yet.”
