A full series of the comedy drama Here We Go is coming to BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
Following on from the Comedy Playhouse which initially aired in December 2020, the series will follow the shenanigans of the Jessop family.
The family faces everyday challenges, from changing careers, keeping the excitement alive within a marriage, kidnapping a dog, undergoing a healthy lifestyle change, wrecking a swimming pool and sabotaging a wedding.
Written by Tom Basden, the series stars Alison Steadman (Gavin & Stacey), Katherine Parkinson (Doc Martin), Jim Howick (Ghosts), Tom Basden (After Life), Freya Parks (Bliss!) and Tori-Allen Martin (Unforgotten).
Youngest family member Sam documents the family across the year, with the series moving forwards and backwards in time, painting a realistic image of a modern British family trying to support each other while annoying a few people in the process.
Nothing goes quite right for the Jessops but their unyielding optimism sees them laughing in the face of disaster and finding the silver linings in every misfortune.
Tom Basden commented: “I’m delighted to be bringing the Jessop family to BBC One this year. Hopefully their spectacular failures will make the rest of us feel a bit better about ourselves.”
Here We Go will air on BBC Two later in the year with the exact date to be announced.
