Ahead of the third series of Tim Renkow's outrageously funny comedy Jerk, BBC Three has announced the guest cast.
Joining Renkow, who stars as Tim, a man who uses his cerebral palsy to get away with saying and doing just about anything, are James Norton (Happy Valley), Lee Ridley (Christmas Comedy Club With Lost Voice Guy), Sally Phillips (Bridget Jones's Diary), Lydia Fleming (In from the Cold) and Gary Beadle (Andor).
Norton's casting comes less than week after the finale of Happy Valley, which saw the actor win plaudits for his star turn as the murderous Tommy Lee Royce in his long-awaited showdown with Sergeant Catherine Cawood (Sarah Lancashire).
Returning to star with Renkow in series three are Lorraine Bracco (The Sopranos), Sharon Rooney (Dumbo) and Rob Madin (Man Like Mobeen). Saida Ahmed (Brassic) also joins the cast with musical artist, Mysie, making her acting debut.
Series three has been co-written by Renkow and Shaun Pye (There She Goes), and will see Tim continue to make a mockery of modern life and its sensitivities. He lands a lead role in a movie, a sting as a drug mule and a job advising government on disability.
Tim also falls in love with a disability activist with an agenda.
Renkow said: “It was great to be back with the old crew and some new faces, they were all unbelievably excellent and so much fun to work with.”
Jerk will return to BBC Three in Spring 2023.
