From the luxuries of stardom to patrolling the streets, a select group of celebrities will join one of the busiest police forces in the country in Channel 4’s Famous and Fighting Crime (working title).

Working with the Cambridgeshire Constabulary, they will assist in high risk operations, crime investigation and even in custody.

The star-studded line-up includes, presenter Katie Piper, Made in Chelsea’s Jamie Laing, Loose Women panellist Penny Lancaster, reality star Sandi Bogle and comedian Marcus Brigstocke.

The celebrity rookies will also be tasked with policing the streets as volunteer officers, offering an insight into the reality of being a volunteer officer.

Katie Piper recently praised the police force on Twitter, and explained how the experience has increased her already high respect for the police force.

“We’re delighted to have secured such a smart, diverse cast of famous faces for this once in a lifetime opportunity,” said Lee McMurray, Commissioning Editor for Formats at Channel 4.

Famous and Fighting Crime will be produced by Blast! Films, with Claire McFall as Series Producer and Executive Producers Dermot Caulfield and Ed Coulthard.
