Documentary series UNTOLD has been commissioned for another series, with subjects ranging from Taylor Swift to illegal dog fights.
Intended for 16-34-year-olds, UNTOLD investigates contemporary subject matters which appeal to the younger generations. Past episodes include Only Fans Got Me Fired, The Truth About Spiking, and The Cost of Being a YouTuber. All episodes are available on the Channel 4 streaming service and are posted onto the Channel 4 Documentaries YouTube channel.
The series saw success with UNTOLD: Life After Love Island, which gained 1.4 million views on YouTube. As an expansion to this, ex-islander Chloe Burrows will be interviewing other past islanders in UNTOLD: Love in the Limelight, finding out how relationships suffer when they’re both profitable, and hounded by the media.
Other topics discussed in the six-episode docuseries will include the rise of Snus, (tobacco pouches placed under the lip) and how it might be overtaking vaping in popularity. UNTOLD: Can I Buy A Home in My Twenties? I’m 23 and Own 10 Homes will see Daisy Maskell (Insomnia and Me) meet young black property owners who have taken an entrepreneurial approach to buying and renting. Dieting drugs are becoming infinitely more available, and journalist Amber Haque will investigate their risks, and how easy they are to obtain. Finally, an exploration in illegal dog fighting across the West Midlands, and a look into The Rise and Rise of Taylor Swift where BBC Radio 1’s Dean McCullough will speak to the UK’s biggest Swifties and find out why her music speaks to them, personally.
The first episode of the series UNTOLD: Love in the Limelight, is available to stream from 26 April 2024, with the other episodes following on Channel 4 streaming and YouTube weekly.
