Channel 4 announces new Kevin Spacey documentary Spacey Unmasked.
The two-part series, produced by Roast Beef Productions, takes a deep dive into a man who was once considered one of the most powerful and respected actors in the world.
The series tells the story of his childhood and growing success on Broadway which led to a meteoric rise to fame and stardom.
This all came crashing down when he was accused by multiple men of grooming, sexual harassment and abuse.
Spacey currently has two court cases against him, a civil case set to be held in New York in October 2022 brought by Spacey’s first public accuser actor Anthony Rapp, and an approaching criminal case in the UK brought by three men who wish to remain anonymous.
The documentary will examine the significant impact of Spacey’s actions and why now felt like the right time for victims to speak out.
Executive producer Dorothy Byrne commented: “Kevin Spacey is one of the most highly honoured and admired actors of our age. His brilliance has won him two Oscars and multiple other awards. Critically acclaimed on both sides of the Atlantic for his film work, he led the Old Vic for 11 years of remarkable success, becoming one of the most important figures in London’s cultural life. These films will follow the unfolding story of the allegations of abuse against him and the resulting court cases.”
