In light of his resignation, Channel 4 has commissioned a new documentary series on Prime Minister Boris Johnson.
Boris will look at the events that shaped the man from his time at Eton College through to his premiership.
Across four hour-long episodes, the documentary will draw from rare archive footage and consult those with intimate knowledge of Johnson - both friends and enemies – to reveal his true character.
As well as giving insight into his actions and ambitions, the series will divulge how the seeds of some of his major political rivalries were sown in the corridors of Eton. This includes Johnson’s predecessor, PM David Cameron, who Johnson beat to become School Captain.
After recalling how Johnson sharpened his skills when campaigning for Student President at Oxford, the series will chart his rise and rise to the very top of British politics.
Ian Katz, Channel 4’s Chief Content Officer, said: “However the story of Boris Johnson’s political career ends he has done more to change Britain and the nature of our politics than any other recent political figure.
“This landmark series will try answer the question of what shaped the boy who wanted to be king of the world and how he grew to believe that he could escape the laws of political gravity.”
