ITV has announced that AJ Odudu and Will Best will present the broadcaster's revamped Big Brother, ahead of the return of the reality show later in 2023.
Together the pair will preside over the weekly evictions and quiz housemates on all the events and antics. They will also host the nightly companion live show, debating the hot topics inside the house.
Following in the footsteps of such Big Brother icons as Davina McCall and Emma Willis, Odudu and Best are relatively new talents. Odudu is best known for co-hosting the RTS Award-winning revival of The Big Breakfast alongside Mo Gilligan. She has also hosted on Comic Relief and as part of the Eurovision team, as well as backstage on ITV's own The Voice UK.
She said: “I’m so excited to finally be able to say that, yes: I’m hosting Big Brother! I couldn't be happier. Following in the footsteps of some of my favourite broadcasting legends to front such an iconic show is an absolute honour - and to do it alongside my amazing friend Will is the icing on the cake.”
Fellow Big Brother fan Best has presenting credits across the major broadcasters, including Dance, Dance, Dance for ITV. "I can't wait to tell some housemates not to swear,” he said.
Explaining the decision, Paul Mortimer, Director of Reality Commissioning for ITV2 and ITVX, affirmed: "AJ and Will really are our perfect pairing as we prepare to reintroduce Big Brother to the next generation."
In their statements, the two also admitted to being close friends, and so, added Mortimer, "with a genuine chemistry, both of them will bring effortless wit, charm and heaps of character to their roles and we’re delighted to be working with them both again.”
The new-look Big Brother is being produced by Initial and will once again see a cast of housemates living in the legendary house for up to six weeks, with cameras scrutinising their every move. Casting is ongoing.
