Laura Whitmore to investigate cyber-stalkers and incels in new docuseries

In one of the instalments, Whitmore will explore the world of ‘involuntary celibates’ or ‘incels’, a male-dominated online community where men who find it difficult to interact with women engage in anti-women discourse. In recent years these forums have moved off the internet and into the real world; in both the UK and US, incels have sought ‘vengeance’ for their feelings of rejection in the form of violence, including mass shootings.

The rumours are true! Maya Jama succeeds Laura Whitmore as host of Love Island

“I’ve always been such a massive Love Island fan and I’m so excited to be hosting one of the nation’s favourite shows," Jama said. "I can’t wait to get into the Villa to meet all of the Islanders."

Jama will take over from Laura Whitmore, who announced in August 2022 that she was leaving the dating show after two years at the helm. She cited "certain elements" of the production that she found "very difficult," including the travel back and forth to South Africa.

After last year saw Liam and Millie beat fellow finalist couples Kaz and Tyler, Chloe and Toby, and Faye and Teddy to the £50,000 prize, a new batch of singletons are heading out to the stunning island of Majorca in the hopes of finding love in the villa.

With Laura Whitmore returning to host, and her husband, comedian Iain Stirling, providing his hilarious commentary once more, here are the latest singletons taking part in this summer’s series of Love Island:

Celebrity Juice will return for its 25th series next month, with returning host Keith Lemon and team captains Emily Atack and Laura Whitmore.

Jama has plenty of experience as a guest on the comedy quiz show and always has fun with whatever Lemon asks of her.

“I never have any idea quite what’s going to unfold on Celeb Juice, but I do know it’s always going to be hilarious and super fun,” commented Maya Jama.

Replacing Caroline Flack, the Irish presenter will be heading over to a brand new villa in Cape Town, South Africa, for the show’s first ever winter series.

Once again, a batch of new Islanders will try to charm their fellow singletons and woo the public as they attempt to find love.

Whitmore will also host Love Island: Aftersun, where former Islanders discuss their time in the villa. The series will air on ITV2 live from London on Monday nights at 10pm.
