Cassian Andor (Diego Luna, Y tu Mamá También) is back, and ready to fight.
Series one of Andor took place five years before the events of A New Hope, the first Star Wars film to be released, and the fourth in the franchise’s chronological order. The Disney+ show followed Cassian Andor (Diego Luna, Narcos: Mexico) as he turned from cynic to revolutionary, ready to take on the Empire. Luna first appeared as Andor in 2016 film Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, whose events feed directly into the start of A New Hope.
Denise Gough (Andor), Holliday Grainger (Merlin), Ambika Mod (One Day) and Jim Sturgess (Cloud Atlas) star in the adaptation of Playdate, the novel by Alex Dahl, who also executive produces. Rounding out the cast are Bronagh Waugh (Death in Paradise), and Michael Workeye (My Lady Jane).
Sethu will play the Doctor’s companion, alongside Millie Gibson (Coronation Street), who will be returning to play fellow companion Ruby Sunday. Gibson made her debut in the 2023 Doctor Who Christmas Special ‘The Church on Ruby Road’.
Gatwa and Gibson’s second season of Doctor Who will be the 15th series since the sci-fi staple was revived in 2005. However, Gatwa and Gibson’s first series – which sees the return of the revival’s original showrunner, Russell T Davies – will officially be known as ‘season one’.
Michael Palin heads to Iraq for the first time, as he embarks on a 1000-mile odyssey traversing the course of the great Tigris river from its source in eastern Turkey to the Persian gulf.
