The trailer and release date for the second series of Andor have been revealed on the Star Wars YouTube channel.

Series one of Andor took place five years before the events of A New Hope, the first Star Wars film to be released, and the fourth in the franchise’s chronological order. The Disney+ show followed Cassian Andor (Diego Luna, Narcos: Mexico) as he turned from cynic to revolutionary, ready to take on the Empire. Luna first appeared as Andor in 2016 film Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, whose events feed directly into the start of A New Hope.

The trailer for series two promises just as many Stormtroopers, shootouts and struts down corridors. As “The Revolution Starts Now” by Steve Earle thumps over the top, Andor snarls:

“We’re in a war. You wanna fight? Or you wanna win?”

Other returning faces include Forest Whitaker (Arrival) as the radical Saw Gerrera and Stellan Skarsgård (Dune: Part Two) as secret Rebel Alliance operative Luthen Rael. Ben Mendelsohn (Babyteeth) will be joining the cast as Director Krennic, reprising his role in Rogue One as the Empire crony in charge of developing the Death Star.

Series two of Andor will be streaming on Disney+ from Tuesday 22 April.
