Behind the Camera Workshop

Step into the world of production, and take a tour through each department, learning what their processes are and what they need to do before the camera starts rolling. Take notes from the Assistant Directors on how they create call sheets and get supporting artists ready for their starring roles. Step through checks with the Make-up and Costume Departments and see what preparation actors go through before they step in front of the camera. The Camera Department will talk you through setting up and how to get that perfect shot.

Production Design Masterclass with Ash Wilkinson

With a career that includes time with Disney on the Emmy nominated ‘Bunny Town’ and Jim Henson, learn the process of starting with a script and breaking it into design components, looking at the choices a designer must make to create a set for the script to be filmed.

The masterclass will include; script breakdowns, set designs and storyboards, through to building and dressing sets for the cameras.

Suitable for early career professionals, practitioners and students.

Pitching Pilots: From Script to Screen

Kim Tserkezie, Managing and Creative Director, Scattered Pictures will be joined by Dan Sefton and Simon Lupton.

Dan Sefton has a string of hit dramas, comedies and returning series including Delicious (Sky); Good Karma Hospital (ITV); Porters (Dave); Trust Me (BBC) and many more. Simon Lupton is former Commissioning Editor of BBC Comedy, and Scripted content at UKTV. He now has his own production company, Seven Seas Films, with Dan.

How to Get a Job in TV

Each masterclass will be 75 minutes, video rich, with plenty of chance to ask questions.

Taking place at Leeds College of Music in association with the new Creative Cities Convention.

Students will have the opportunity to participate in the Convention and attend networking drinks on the opening evening of the 25th April.
