The eight-part series is set to be a family saga with the Costa Del Sol in the early 1980s as its backdrop, featuring a pulsating 80s soundtrack.

Created and written by Nick Love (Bulletproof), A Town Called Malice follows a crime family of petty thieves from South London called the Lords, who have fallen to the bottom of the criminal food chain and are not happy about it.

Gene Lord, the youngest son on the clan, finds himself overlooked and neglected by his family, who fail to recognise his keen intelligence and killer instincts. After narrowly surviving a gangland battle, Gene and his formidable girlfriend Cindy flee arrest in London for Spain. Quickly becoming embroiled in the local criminal underworld, the lovers seem to find trouble around every corner.

When the rest of the Lords join the pair on the Costa del Sol, they seize the opportunity to reinvent themselves and restore their family to their former glory. Filled with romance, obsession, deceit, swagger and high camp, A Town Called Malice is both a musical love letter to the 80s and a high-octane operatic thriller.

A Town Called Malice will air on Sky Max and NOW in late 2022.
