Sky has released the trailer for its new gangland thriller A Town Called Malice.
"If Dallas made love to Pulp Fiction to the sounds of Duran Duran, they’d give birth to A Town Called Malice," reads the tagline.
Set in the early 1980s, the thriller follows the Lords, a family of former South London gangsters who've fallen to the bottom of the criminal ladder.
Following a big battle, they flee to the Costa del Sol in Spain, where they seize the opportunity to re-invent themselves and re-capture their former glory.
The only problem is that they spend as much time fighting each other as they do their rivals.
Jason Flemyng heads up the Lord family as Albert Lord, while Jack Rowan stars as Gene Lord and Tahirah Sharif as Gene's girlfriend Cindy Carter.
Martha Plimpton will play Mint Ma, and making up the wider family are Dougray Scott as Uncle Tony, Lex Shrapnel as Leonard Lord, Daniel Sharman as Kelly Lord, George Jaques as Anthony Lord and Eliza Butterworth as Carly Lord.
Nick Love, the director and writer of several British gangster and hooligan films (The Football Factory, The Firm) created the series. Jamie Donoughue is lead director, who won plaudits for his work on the acclaimed historical Saxon drama The Last Kingdom.
Vertigo Films, Rogue State and Sky Studios have teamed up for production.
A Town Called Malice will air on Sky Max and NOW in 2023. Watch the trailer below.
