Sky Original’s crime-fighting comedy Code 404, starring Stephen Graham (Line of Duty), Daniel Mays (Des) and Anna Maxwell Martin (Motherland), will return for a third series.
Set in the Special Investigations Unit of the London Met in the not-too-distant future, the series follows Mays’ AI-enhanced “supercop” DI John Major and his ever-patient partner DI Roy Carver (Graham) as they attempt to solve crime cases, with Maxwell Martin starring as Major’s widow Kelly.
Written by Daniel Peak and directed by Al Campbell, the third series sees one of the SIU’s agents murdered, and Major and Carver become determined to solve the case to prove their worth. A new forensic psychologist Professor McAllister is brought on to assist with the case, but the havoc-wreaking killer continues to evade capture.
The upcoming series will welcome back Rosie Cavaliero (Black Narcissus), Michelle Greenidge (It’s A Sin), Richard Gadd (Clique), Amanda Payton (Hacks), Tracy-Ann Oberman (Ridley Road) and Michael Armstrong (EastEnders). Also joining the cast will be Vinette Robinson (The A Word) as Professor McAllister and Daniel Lawrence Taylor (Timewasters) as journalist Searle.
Code 404 is co-produced by Kudos (Banijay UK) and Water & Power Productions.
