Coming after the announcement that Vinette Robinson, Hannah Walters and Stephen Graham will be reprising their roles from the multi-award-winning film, the BBC has released first look images for the four-part series of the same name.

Boiling Point showed the stress-ridden world of hospitality in a real time drama that received widespread critical acclaim. Stephen Graham (Time) starred as Andy, the head chef of Jones & Sons who was struggling to cope with its falling health and safety ratings, managing the staff and cooking for a visiting food critic. The film ended with Andy collapsing.

The series will take place eight months after Andy’s heart attack, with head chef Carly (Robinson) trying to make a successful restaurant of her own without the help of her mentor Andy. Alongside her old kitchen crew, Carly must try to bring in customers, serve quality food, and make a profit, all while dealing with her own complicated personal life.

Also reprising their roles are Ray Panthaki (Marcella) as Freeman, Gary Lamont (River City) as Dean, Áine Rose Daly (Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan) as Robyn, Taz Skylar (One Piece) as Billy, Daniel Larkai (Split Sole) as Jake, Stephen McMillan (The Lesson) as Jamie, Hannah Traylen (Ridley Road) as Holly, and Izuka Hoyle (Big Boys) as Camille.

Joining the cast are Stephen Odubola (Blue Story) Shaun Fagan (Malpractice), Joel MacCormack (Safe House) and Ahmed Malek (Bimbo). Cathy Tyson (Help) will take the role of Carly’s mum Vivian, and Missy Haysom will make her television debut.

Boiling Point will air on BBC One and iPlayer later in 2023.
