Channel 4 has commissioned a second series of entertainment show The Lateish Show With Mo Gilligan.
The series is produced by Gilligan’s production company Mono G and Expectation and will return with six brand new episodes.
Series one delighted viewers with a mix of games, fun sketches, music and light-hearted chat with famous faces such as Tyson Fury, Riz Ahmed, Jada Pinkett Smith, David Schwimmer and Kelis.
Gilligan called the news “incredible”, he commented: “This was always a really bold, ambiguous project and I’m really proud of what we’ve achieved as a team.
“I’d like to thank each and every person who has watched, supported and shared the show. You make Lateish the triumph it is, and I am so grateful. Time for more Nursery Grimes!”
Phil Harris, Head of Entertainment at Channel 4, expressed his delight at Gilligan hosting a new series.
He said: “He has an infectious energy on and off screen and there’s nobody better than Mo to bring our audiences the fun we all want in 2021.”
Pollyanna McGirr, executive producer for Momo G, added: “Mo is a remarkable talent. His extraordinary drive, creativity, vision and continuous commitment to create opportunities for others is truly phenomenal.”
Series two of The Lateish With Mo Gilligan will air on Channel 4 in 2021.
