This week's top TV picks includes the dramatic conclusion of Doctor Foster, the return of The Apprentice and a new documentary series from Louis Theroux.

Comedy: Curb Your Enthusiasm

Monday

Sky Atlantic, 10pm

Curb Your Enthusiasm is back after a six year absence. We last saw Larry David in Paris after being driven out of New York by his neighbour (Michael J. Fox) and the mayor.

Now Larry is back in LA, where he manages to offend Jeff's (Oliver Hardy) barber and land himself in trouble over a new project.

The ninth series guest stars a bunch of familiar faces including Bryan Cranston, Lauren Graham, Jimmy Kimmel, Elizabeth Banks and Judge Judy Sheindlin.

Drama: Doctor Foster

Tuesday

BBC One, 9pm

The drama that everyone's talking about reaches its conclusion this week.

Did Simon (Bertie Carvel) finally meet his end as Gemma (Suranne Jones) sped her car towards him? Who will come out on top in the ultimate fight for vengeance? And will we finally discover what Simon told Tom that made him lose his trust in his mother so dramatically?

Whether or not we find out the answers to all of the burning questions, with plenty of twists and turns in store the series finale is sure to go off with a bang.

Entertainment: The Apprentice

Wednesday

BBC One, 9pm

Lord Sugar returns to put 12 candidates through their paces for the £250,000 prize and the opportunity to become his new business partner.

The line-up includes a semi-pro hip hop dancer, a fashion PR consultant and a 'Tory Boy' legal expert who previously worked in the office of David Cameron.

In their first task, the groups must manufacture burgers with only one day to bring in a substantial profit. Who will be the first to be fired?

Factual: Escape

Sunday

Channel 4, 8pm

The second episode of the survival series sees Ant Middleton and a group of trained engineers attempt to escape from a simulated landslide, with their vehicles lying in the depths of a canyon.

The challenge follows the previous week's survival test of escaping from a desert, in which the engineers had to put together a vehicle from the remains of a plane wreckage.

The group includes aeronautical, marine and mechanical specialists, including a Formula One engineer.

Documentary: Louis Theroux: Dark States

Sunday

BBC Two, 9pm

In the first in a new series, Louis Theroux delves into the dark world of heroin abuse in Huntington, West Virginia, where he spends time with users in the Appalachian community and the emergency services who are struggling to cope with the influx of overdose cases per day.

The city sees one in ten babies in the city born dependent on opiates, and cases of fatal overdoses 13 times the national average, making it one of the worst cities hit by a drug epidemic in US history.

Heroin Town explores the rise of heroin use in America following a crackdown on prescription drugs, which has left two million Americans who are dependent on high-strength painkillers seeking out relief from a greater and more dangerous high.
