Rupert Grint, of Harry Potter series fame, has been named as the lead in a new Sky Atlantic sitcom around the life of a man who lies about having cancer.
Grint will appear opposite Shaun of the Dead actor Nick Frost, and Hollywood film star Don Johnson in the show, produced by David Walliams and Miranda Hart's production house King Bert, called Sick Note.
Sick Note follows the life of Daniel Glass (Grint), a down and out office worker who detests his life under horrible boss Kenny West (Johnson). When Daniel is diagnosed with esophageal cancer, he finds everyone acts kinder towards him and life becomes more bearable.
However, when it turns out that the diagnosis is a mistake made by the incompetent Dr. Ian Glennis (Frost) Daniel has to maintain an outward appearance of being sick if he is to continue enjoying favourable treatment from everyone else.
Director of Sky Atlantic, Zai Bennett said: “We’re delighted to welcome the stellar cast of Rupert Grint, Nick Frost and Don Johnson to Sky Atlantic in this smart new original comedy. They join a high end stable of US hits like Veep and Silicon Valley alongside great original comedy from the likes of Julia Davis and Steve Coogan."
