Sky has confirmed the air date for the second series of The Last of Us.
Pedro Pascal (The Mandalorian) and RTS award-winner Bella Ramsey (Game of Thrones) will both reprise their roles in the hit video game adaptation. In series one, broadcast in 2023, Joel (Pascal) was tasked with taking Ellie (Ramsey) across America after it had been ravaged by a zombie apocalypse. Ellie is immune to the ‘cordyceps’ disease, meaning she may be the secret to creating a vaccine that saves humanity.
Series two takes place five years later, after Joel saved Ellie’s life, but at the cost of developing the vaccine. Now, the two find themselves at odds with one another.
This series, Kaitlyn Dever (Dopesick) joins the cast as Abby, and Isabela Merced (Transformers: The Last Knight) as Dina. In The Last of Us Part II video game, Dina is Ellie’s partner. Meanwhile, Abby is out to avenge her father, killed in both the first video game and TV series by Joel.
Jeffrey Wright (The French Dispatch) also features as militia leader Isaac Dixon, with Catherine O’Hara (The Nightmare Before Christmas) guest starring.
The second series of The Last of Us will air on Sky on 14 April, and will be available on NOW the same day.
