Love Island returns on Monday 3 June for another summer of love and moody stares off-camera.
Before we readjust to life at the Villa, let’s get to know the contestants.
Samantha Kenny
26-year-old Samantha has found that the dating well has run dry in Liverpool. She works weekends, and doesn’t tend to go out anymore. If she does make it out to a club, it tends to be in London. The makeup artist is a fan of southern boys, she explained.
“Tall, dark and cockney is my type,” she said.
Munveer Jabbal
A 30-year-old recruitment manager from Surbiton, Munveer has high standards and isn’t too happy with the London dating scene. It’s fair to say the Villa has got him excited.
“You don't know who's single [in London]… but now you're putting me in a place where everyone's single so there's no issues around that,” he said.
Nicole Samuel
The accounts manager has lived a life beyond her 24 years. Nicole used to be a professional street dancer, becoming a world champion in 2011.
More recently, she’s been making the most of being single. “I've enjoyed being able to go on holiday with the girls and not having to worry about someone back home.” Maybe the Villa will finally give her someone to worry about.
Ronnie Vint
Ronnie is a semi-professional footballer, but will his plays on the pitch help him play the field?
The South East Londoner’s type is encouragingly straightforward.
“I want someone that's family orientated, caring and career minded.”
Extremely straightforward, in fact.
“Lookwise, I like blondes with nice boobs.”
Don’t worry, though, Ronnie’s not shallow: he’s also into brunettes.
Patsy Field
The 29-year-old office administrator is ready to bag her man. We get the feeling she’s in the right place.
Patsy was born with Erb’s Palsy, a condition resulting in partial or complete paralysis of the arm. However, she’s keen to note that it doesn’t define her.
“I’ve learnt to get on with it and it’s never held me back,” she said.
Ciaran Davies
Ciaran has decided he’s mature enough to find the right girl, at the ripe old age of 21.
The surveyor is looking for a girl with loyalty (and “obviously looks”, he added). Just like in the lonely heart columns of old, Ciaran is also after a Good Sense Of Humour.
“I’m a bit of a wind up so I want a girl who can give it back,” he said.
Mimii Ngulube
Mimii comes from the South Coast, and has got bored of the beach, admitting that “the pool in Portsmouth is not giving.”
A 24-year-old mental health nurse, she’s a self-described girls’ girl.
“My girls are my rocks and I’m theirs so I’ll be a good friend as well as going in there to find a man.”
Sam Taylor
Sam is heading into the Villa full of hope. A 23-year-old hair stylist, the Chesterfield native hopes his fellow Islanders won’t judge a book by its (immaculately groomed) cover.
“How I look compared to what I do for work might not necessarily add up," he said. "You wouldn’t look at me as a tall guy covered in tattoos and think that I make girls' hair look pretty for a living.”
Jess White
Jess describes herself as hard work. She knows what she wants, and isn’t afraid to go out and get it.
“When you’re a loud, outgoing woman, sometimes it can intimidate men – men don’t always want that,” she said.
The retail manager loves “a set of white Turkey teeth but a good set of Turkey teeth” – luckily for her, that’s something of a speciality in the Villa.
Ayo Odukoya
Ayo is a model from Canning Town. So far, so Love Island.
For someone about to spend weeks in the Spanish sun, the 25-year-old isn’t much of an outdoorsman.
“I don’t really like being outside too much,” he said. “I’ve been outside recently and it’s not fun outside!”
Well, good luck to you.
Harriett Blackmore
The Brighton native describes herself as one of the seaside town’s 'it' girls. The 24-year-old is a dancer and personal shopper, and ready to bring the fun.
“I’ll bring the entertainment for everyone in the Villa, whether that’s making the girls laugh or making the boys turn their heads,” she said.
Whatever she does, it’s not likely to be boring.
“I’m sure that I’ll bring the drama.”
Sean Stone
This 24-year-old sweet salesman hails from Hertford. He describes himself as “tall, dark and handsome”, and – in a rare feat of honesty – “not quite six foot”.
Rest assured, however, that he has a “great smile, great teeth, great arms and abs”. In other words, Sean is “the full package.” His words, specifically.
Love Island starts at 9pm on Monday 3 June on ITV1, ITV2, ITVX & STV.
