Series two of The Traitors is being made into a film for Comic Relief.
The Traitors: The Movie will star Suranne Jones (Vigil) as presenter Claudia Winkleman, Sally Phillips (Bridget Jones’s Baby) as contestant Diane and Jonathan Bailey (Bridgerton) as Harry. Expect to see all the iconic moments from the series, from Ross’s winking, Harry’s scheming and Diane’s murder.
Joining the all-star line-up are Asim Chaudhry (People Just Do Nothing) as Jaz, Kiell Smith-Bynoe (Ghosts) as Miles and Iain Stirling (Love Island) as Ross. Catherine Tate (Doctor Who) will also make an appearance in the sketch as Evie, or Charlie, depending on who you ask. The film will also feature a cameo from Mollie Pearce, as herself. David Walliams (Britain’s Got Talent) is also set to appear as Paul.
‘‘Being involved in Red Nose Day is always a laugh,” said Sally Phillips. “It’s pretty difficult to use your job for good, so this is the one time a year that you get to raise money while working. I binged watched most of The Traitors in a day and I became obsessed. Actually, don’t tell me who won because I watched as far as Diane’s death and I’m going to go home today and watch the rest of it. It’s completely gripping.’’
“I’m sure I am the first in a long line of actors who will play Harry in biopics,” said Jonathan Bailey. “Actually, I want to take this moment to publicly apologise to Harry for what I’ve done.’’
The Traitors: The Movie will appear on Comic Relief: Funny for Money, which airs on BBC One on Friday 15 March from 7.00pm.
