Wednesday

The Traitors

BBC One, 9.00pm

Claudia Winkleman returns to present a second series of the reality show that combines a game of Mafia with a Scottish castle. 22 contestants are let loose to vie for £120,000 in a battle of wits and betrayal. As the Traitors work together to pick off the remaining ‘Faithful’ contestants, will the truth about who’s who emerge before it’s too late?

“Play it nice, you could end up six feet under,” Winkleman warns in the trailer. “Play it dirty, and you might come out on top.”

If you haven't caught the first series yet and don't know what all the fuss is about, read our guide here.

Thursday

The Brothers Sun

Netflix

Michelle Yeoh (Everything Everywhere All at Once) promises to steal the show in this new comedy-drama.

It’s the classic sibling set-up: one is a lovable dweeb, and the other is a Taiwanese crime lord. Bruce Sun (Sam Song Li) is an average Joe whose peaceful life in California is disrupted when brother Charles “Chairleg” Sun (Justin Chien) rolls into town.

Back in Taipei, Charles has been dealing with the fallout of his triad father’s assassination. Now, the two brothers and mum Eileen (Yeoh) must team up to defend themselves as hordes of gangsters come looking for them.

Thursday

Julia

Sky Atlantic, 9.00pm

The 1960s was full of icons, both real and imagined. Hippies took drugs with Andy Warhol and Don Draper alike, as they listened to The Beatles and Rolling Stones. Rockstar antics pale in comparison, however, to the endearing earnestness of Julia Child.

Julia follows the chef (played by Sarah Lancashire) through her burgeoning TV career, with this week’s second series opening with a trip to France. Over eight-episodes, the culinary mastermind runs up against sexism, studio interference and cooking for the White House.

Friday

James May: Our Man in India

Prime Video

“It’s going to be a truly lovely day,” announces The Grand Tour presenter in the trailer for his latest travel show.

After forays into Japan and Italy, James May returns to Asia to explore what he suggests could be “the most colourful country on the planet”. The subcontinent is vast and varied, making it an at-times intimidating place to be a tourist. Over three episodes, May does his best to survey the country, with only a bit of bumbling.
