The show is set on the border between Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland, with filming due to take place in both.

Scholey plays Cathy, a woman who encounters Morgan’s character, Michael, 20 years after he killed her brother. Cathy becomes obsessed with the life Michael has managed to build for himself after an early release from prison, including a family and successful career. As her fixation grows, it becomes Cathy’s mission to tear that life down.

The show is directed by Laura Way (Maxine), and produced by Three River Fiction and Vico Films. Screen Ireland, Northern Ireland Screen and Coimisiún na Meán are also providing support.

“Cathy is a wonderfully complex character and I'm excited to be bringing her to life and to taking her to dark places with this brilliant team,” said Scholey. “Laura Way is a director I’ve worked with before and we have a wonderful shorthand, so it’s very exciting to be teaming up again for such a compelling story.”

The show started life as a short story, which was later adapted into the one-woman show Bag for Life, written by Colin Bateman. The Northern Irish writer also penned the TV adaptation, and said, “the actual conundrum at the heart of the story is universal and timeless – what do you do if you meet someone who has prospered after murdering one of your loved ones? Do you say something? Do you do something? How would you react?”
