The BBC has released a first look image for series two of Time, and announced the cast joining Bella Ramsey, Jodie Whittaker, and Tamara Lawrance.
The new series will not be a following on from the first, which starred Sean Bean and Stephen Graham as prisoner and guard, but will follow a new female-led storyline. Only Siobhan Finneran (Happy Valley) will be reprising her role as Marie-Louise, the humane and compassionate prison chaplain.
Ramsey (The Last of Us), Whittaker (Doctor Who) and Lawrance (The Silent Twins) will star as Kelsey, Orla and Abi, three very different women who all arrive in prison on the same day and find themselves in a completely unfamiliar setting. Despite the constant threat of brutality, they discover an unexpected sense of community within the prison walls.
Joining the cast of Time series two are Julie Graham (Shetland), Alicia Forde (Waterloo Road), Nicholas Nunn (SAS Rogue Heroes), James Corrigan (This Is Going to Hurt), Sophie Willan (Alma’s Not Normal), Faye McKeever (The Responder), Kayla Meikle (The Capture), Maimuna Memon (Sherwood), and Lisa Millett (Robin Hood).
Series two is coming soon to BBC One and iPlayer, with series one still available to watch on iPlayer.
