This week on TV the soul of London is up for grabs in series two of Gangs of London, angry spirits threaten an apocalypse in The Fades and Martin Lewis is back to save you money.

The House Across the Street 

Monday

Channel 5, 9pm

Psychological thriller The House Across the Street tells the story of Claudia (Shirley Henderson), a reclusive nurse who begins obsessing over the case of a missing child who lived nearby.

Claudia’s initial fascination turns into an obsession to discover the truth about what really happened to missing Emily Winter. 

As she spirals deeper into her obsession, Claudia also becomes entangled in the Winter family’s grief and starts a relationship with a teacher called George (Craig Parkinson).

The Martin Lewis Show: Live 

Tuesday

The cost-of-living crisis is affecting everyone around the UK and there are unprecedented rises in household bills expected this winter.

Martin Lewis is back with all the tips and tricks to help people prepare for the difficult times ahead. 

Lewis will answer viewers' most urgent money questions and, along with Angelica Bell, will help viewers celebrate Christmas on a budget and speak more openly about household finances.

Gangs of London 

Thursday 

Sky Atlantic, 9pm

When series two begins it has been one year since the death of Sean Wallace (Joe Cole) and the remaining Wallaces have dispersed, the Dumanis are estranged and ex-undercover police officer Elliot (Sope Dirisu) is now working for the investors against his will.

The investors are now behind heroin baron Asif Afridi (Asif Raza Mir) and have joined together to create a new ruling force in London with brutal gang leader Koba (Waleed Zuaiter) laying down the law.

Koba wants a complete monopoly on the London drug trade, but the gangs won’t give up the soul of London without a fight.

The Peripheral

Based on the novel of the same by William Gibson, sci-fi thriller The Peripheral focuses on Flynee Fisher (Chloë Grace Moretz), a young American woman who escapes from her boring, everyday life by playing cutting-edge VR video games.

Fischer earns extra money by playing the games, known as sims, which goes towards paying for the medical bills of her dying mother. 

When a company sends Fisher a new system to play, she discovers a world that looks like London but not as she knows it. 

When she discovers the London she is exploring is the London of the future, her and her family's lives are plunged into grave danger. 

Doctor Who

Sunday

BBC One, 7:30pm

Jodie Whittaker will make her final appearance as Doctor Who in a centenary special called The Power of the Doctor

The 13th Doctor will need all the help she can get from her trusted companions Yasmin (Mandip Gill) and Dan (John Bishop) in the fight for her existence against her deadliest enemies: the Master, the Daleks and the Cybermen. 

Classic companions Ace (Sophie Aldred) and Tegan (Janet Fielding) will also return for the special.

Nucti Gatwa has been confirmed as the 14th Doctor and will be taking the TARDIS keys and ushering in a new era.
