The Franchise

Monday

Sky Comedy, 10.00pm

Superhero franchises. We’ve all heard of them; and most people can probably name at least five ‘heroes.’ But what do the people behind the scenes do to keep the franchises thriving? This new Sky Comedy series from Succession writer Jon Brown, Armando Iannucci and Sam Mendez answers that question.

Yesterday’s Himesh Patel plays first Assistant Director Daniel with Ghosts’ Lolly Adefope as his right-hand woman, Dag. Their film is overshadowed by another in the franchise, the upcoming blockbuster Centurios 2. Their smaller film, Tecto: Eye of the Storm, has its challenges: first, health inspectors; second, unruly actors; and third, it’s about a construction worker with an invisible jackhammer, whose superpower is causing earthquakes.

Made in Chelsea

Monday

E4, 10.35pm

After 27 series, Made in Chelsea can still bring the drama. Past series have seen the Chelsea crew travel to Australia, Corsica, and Bali, but now the group is back in Chelsea for their 28th run around the block.

It all went down last series after Julia Pollard (otherwise known as Muffin) kissed Sam Vanderpump (otherwise known as Vanders) on a night out, upsetting Tristan Phipps (who is unfortunately nickname-less). In other news, Ruby Adler confessed her love for her ex-boyfriend Reza Amiri-Garroussi and the new series will reveal if they’re back on track, or if it’s over.

Doctor Odyssey

Thursday

Disney +

All aboard Ryan Murphy’s new medical drama, Doctor Odyssey. Murphy is the creative mind behind Glee, American Horror Story, and Monsters to name a few, and has now turned his sights towards the sea, with Joshua Jackson (Dr. Death) starring as the titular doctor. Just like on Below Deck, a crew trapped on a luxury boat will have rivalries, fall-outs and love affairs. Unlike Below Deck, Doctor Odyssey has a lot more medical crises to deal with. And they’re a long way from the shore…

Nautilus

Friday

Prime Video

If Doctor Odyssey wasn’t nautical enough for you, Nautilus is a big budget modern rewriting of the OG ocean adventure, Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Seas.

In 1857, the British East India Company is building a huge fantastical submersible with slave labour from its empire. One of the prisoners, Nemo (Shazad Latif, What’s Love Got to Do with It?) manages to form an uprising, steal the ship, and set sail across the sea on the hunt for freedom and treasure. Along with his crew members, Nemo tries to take down “the Corporation more powerful than any country.”

The Voice UK final

Saturday

ITV1, 8.30pm

This series of The Voice has been one of firsts – the first UK judging duo in McFly’s Tom Fletcher and Danny Jones, and the first ever AI mentor. The AI, named Fyilicia, was joined by mentors Griff, Hannah Waddingham and Little Mix’s Perry Edwards, who helped judges LeAnn Rimes, Sir Tom Jones and Fletcher and Jones. Fyilicia was unsurprisingly brought in by will.i.am. Finalists Ava, Billy and Louie, Storry and Deb Orah will battle it out for this year's crown.

Generation Z

Sunday

Channel 4, 9.00pm

When a truck crashes and spills dangerous chemicals over a care home in a small town, the infected residents get a new lease of death and a taste for human blood. Specifically, it is the high schoolers of the area who are in the firing line, and soon they realise they must take the zombie ‘boomers’ down before the ‘zoomers’ are wiped out entirely.
