Sky has confirmed the release date for upcoming drama This England, starring Kenneth Branagh as Prime Minister Boris Johnson, with a brand-new teaser revealed.
Following Boris Johnson’s turbulent first months as Prime Minister as the first wave of the Coronavirus pandemic ripped through the UK, the drama takes us inside the halls of power.
Co-written and directed by Michael Winterbottom (Greed), This England explores Johnson’s attempts to juggle Brexit and his own controversial personal and political life while the country faced its biggest crisis in modern history.
Interwoven with events in government are stories from around the country, from the experts and scientists racing against the clock to understand the virus; the doctors, nurses and care-home workers on the frontline working tirelessly and heroically to contain and overcome it; and ordinary people whose lives were turned upside down in an instant.
The teaser trailer reveals frantic government meetings, high-pressured discussions with the likes of Dominic Cummings and Rishi Sunak, and a look at Johnson's own time in intensive care with Covid.
This England will air on Sky Atlantic with all six episodes dropping on streaming service NOW on 21 September.
