Hot off the dance floor, Strictly Come Dancing champion Stacey Dooley will join make-up legends Val Garland and Dominic Skinner in the search for the UK’s next big make-up star for BBC Three.
Glow Up: Britain’s Next Make-Up Star will be an eight-part series that will see 10 contestants live together and collaborate under the watchful eyes of judges Val Garland, Global Make-Up Director at L’Oreal Paris, and Dominic Skinner, Global Senior Artist for MAC Cosmetics.
“I’m delighted to be involved with Glow Up,” said Dooley. “The make-up artists are so impressive and talented... and Val and Dominic were a scream to work with. Can’t wait to show you all it!”
Between Garland and Skinner, the duo have each teamed-up with some of the biggest names in the cosmetic industry.
Skinner’s portfolio features a diverse range of work from TV and film to beauty and runway.
Garland has most notably collaborated with Kate Moss, Lady Gaga and Kendall Jenner, and has worked with high profile-brands such as Vogue and Alexander McQueen.
With a variety of briefs each week, the contestants will need to take their skills to the next level to impress the judging duo, as well as the guest judges whose expertise range from film to fashion.
“I want to find a make-up artist who is willing to take risks and to push themselves creatively, someone who is more inspired and hungry at the end of this process than they were at the beginning,” said Skinner.
Garland added that she will be looking for "skill, creativity, the ability to adapt in any given situation. I’m looking for someone who works well under pressure.”
"Don’t give me diva, don’t give me attitude, don’t try to sell me something that I don’t believe in.”
Glow Up: Britain’s Next Make-Up Star will be available to watch on BBC Three later on in 2019.
