I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! is returning for its 24th series of subjecting 10 famous faces to the trials and tasks of the Australian jungle.
Hosts Ant and Dec will welcome celebs from all walks of life: Corrie stars, TikTokers and DJs. Once in the jungle they will be stripped of all the pleasures of normal life – caffeine, make-up and gourmet dinners – and be introduced to three weeks of rice, beans and maybe squirrel (if they’re lucky).
Meet the campmates:
Coleen Rooney
It’s… Wagatha Christie!
Although initially known as footballer Wayne Rooney’s wife, she made a name for herself after the seminal Instagram post announcing the mole who’d been selling her stories to The Sun: Rebekah Vardy.
Since then, the resulting court case has been dramatised in a Channel 4 drama starring Michael Sheen and investigated in documentaries for Disney+ and BBC Three.
Rooney says: “I have always said if I was going to do one – then it would be this show. I think it will be good for me.”
Tulisa Contostavlos
You might know Tulisa from her spell on the X-Factor panel aged only 23, for which she mentored acts like Little Mix and Lucy Spraggan.
More recently, Tulisa has reunited with N-Dubz, producing and releasing their first album since 2011 last year.
On her venture into the jungle, Tulisa says: “I am like Frodo Baggins on an unexpected journey.”
Alan Halsall
Alan Halsall was meant to be in the Jungle last year but had to pull out after a knee injury. That hasn’t put him off though. He’s best known for his role of Tyrone Dobbs in Coronation Street, which he has played since 1998.
Halsall says he’ll be missing golfing, and knowing the Manchester United score.
Oti Mabuse
Oti Mabuse joined the cast of Strictly Come Dancing professionals in 2015, being the only dancer to win two series in a row with celeb partners Kevin Fletcher and Bill Bailey. She now judges on Dancing on Ice, making her and her sister Motsi, who’s also a judge on Strictly, a pair to be reckoned with.
Oti says: “I do cry on Dancing on Ice. I think we will see a bucket load of tears from me.”
“In my head I am a superhero but snakes are not my thing. I am petrified of them and they are my biggest fear.”
Melvin Odoom
Radio DJ Odoom has been on our screens since Dick and Dom in da Bungalow so he’ll be no stranger to surprise ‘gungings’ or strange challenges. But the trials aren’t what Melvin’s most afraid of, it's waking up the campers with his snoring!
Odoom says: “I can become a different person if I haven’t eaten enough – I am Moody Melvin! It’s very rare, but I will try my best to do all the trials.”
Barry McGuigan
Barry McGuigan is a former professional boxer and promoter, and although his time in the ring may not have prepared him for the Jungle, he’s looking to tackle its psychological challenges head on.
McGuigan says: “I’m 63 now. I’d like to think I’m a young 63, but that doesn’t mean it’ll make any of these challenges easy. I’d rather do it when I’m 63, than 73, put it that way.”
Danny Jones
McFly member Danny Jones is taking a break in the Australian jungle before going back on tour for Busted vs McFly in 2025.
Jones has been taking his own measures to prepare: “I've stopped drinking caffeine, I've lowered my calories a bit. I felt the hunger for a few days. It's not going to be anything like the rice and beans!”
Jane Moore
Loose Women’s Jane Moore isn’t afraid to bring a bit of her job into the Jungle. She says she won’t be afraid to share her strong opinions, and might give her campmates the occasional grilling, whether accidentally or on purpose.
Moore says: “The eating trials… I know it’s not going to harm me, but retching is an involuntary reaction and my body might have other ideas... vomit live on TV – now that is a career highlight.”
Dean McCullough
McCullough is making the switch from sound to screen and hanging up his headphones at the BBC Radio 1 offices.
But he doesn’t have the most positive attitude going into it: “I made the mistake of watching episode one from last year,” he says, “and I nearly passed out watching it. I had to turn it off. And I hate cockroaches.”
GK Barry
GK Barry is one of UK TikTok’s biggest stars, boasting well over three million followers and a popular podcast. She’s no stranger to TV, having appeared in The Wheel and The Weakest Link, nor to switching off from friends and family for a series, having competed in the YouTube reality show Locked In back in 2022.
Barry says: “I haven’t slept in a month. I am scared of the Trials, and I am genuinely scared of everything. The eating trial to me is the worst thing you can do to a human being.”
I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! starts on 17 November 2024 on ITV1 and ITVX.
