The Voice UK is to return, with three new hosts. LeAnn Rimes will fill one of the chairs, while McFly’s Tom Fletcher and Danny Jones will jointly sit on the fourth coaching spot in a double chair.
No stranger to reality TV; Jones has been a judge on six series of The Voice Kids and recently won The Masked Singer dressed as a Piranha, which he kept hidden from his son.
The new trio of judges replace Olly Murs and Anne-Marie, who departed in 2023.
The singing competition, based on a Dutch format, sees judges listen to contestants with their backs turned, allowing them to focus purely on the quality of singing. If judges like what they hear, they can turn their chair around and vie for a chance to coach the contestant.
In a first for the series, Fletcher and Jones will have to agree before turning their chair.
Emma Willis (Celebrity Big Brother) will return to present the show, while will.i.am and Tom Jones will continue to judge.
The winner will be awarded a record deal with EMI, a £50,000 cash prize and a trip to Universal Studios Florida.
“I’m truly excited and grateful to take on the role of coach on The Voice UK and to be joining an epic panel of coaches,” said Rimes. “I’m looking forward to offering my heart and guidance, sharing what I’ve learned through my own musical journey, and discovering the extraordinary talent that the UK is renowned for.”
Filming for the new series is taking place in late February. The new nine-part series of The Voice UK will air on ITV1 and STV, and be available on ITVX and STV Player, later in 2024.
