Returning to her comedic roots, Julia Davis, the creator of both Camping and Hunderby has penned Sally4Ever, a darkly funny new series which centres on a bored suburban housewife searching for a more meaningful existence.
Following the life of Sally (Catharine Shepherd, Peep Show), a successful marketer, ensconced in a dull suburban life with David (Alex Macqueen, The Inbetweeners) the series follows the events after David proposes to Sally.
Sally has a crisis about the proposal and embarks on a wild affair with Emma (Julia Davis) a captivating musician, poet and author. Emma soon moves in starts rearranging Sally’s life, leaving her head spinning and questioning what she actually wants.
“They say never work with your heroines, balls to that Julia’s as much fun to work with as her shows are to watch,” said Jon Mountague, head of Sky Comedy, he added: “Her latest uniquely brilliant comic creation is genuinely breathtaking.”
The seven part series will explore love and sex in a gender fluid world and will also star Julian Barratt (The Mighty Boosh) and Mark Gatiss (Sherlock).
