First Dates is one of Channel 4’s most popular documentary series, which follows an array of lovebirds on a mission to find true love

Now in its sixth season, First Dates captures the pursuit of love along with the sparks or burns that can emerge from being on a first date with a stranger. The series has seen many ups, downs, tears and laughter, so we've rounded-up some of the notable moments that have happened so far.

Scott proposes to Victoria

They met three weeks prior and immediately got on like a house on fire, proceeding to move in together. You've got to love the ring he gave her... one of a kind.

Richard Blackwood's date doesn't have a clue

Along with the regular first daters, sometimes well-known celebrities have gone looking for love in the First Dates restaurant. This time Eastender's actor Richard Blackwood's date didn't have the slightest clue who he was and it was awkward to say the least.

A First Dates first

One of the highlights from the recent series, a lovely surprise as a result of a cute date.

Frankie forgets his dates name

First rule of dating (not that we're experts) is to remember your date's name. Frankie forgot to do this, and it didn't go down well.

Did you just dribble?

This is up there as one of the most awkward dates from the show. The silence is deafening.

If you want to know what really goes on behind the scenes of First Dates and how the producers deal with contestants' chemistry (and cringe-worthy awkwardness), book for the RTS Futures event on Wednesday 23 November. Check out all our panel guests and details of the event here.
