E4 has announced the air date for new sitcom Maxxx, starring O-T Fagbenle and Jourdan Dunn.
The six-part series is an outrageously transgressive and cringe-worthy peek behind the curtain of a pop music scene rife with insecurity and fragile narcissism.
Assumed dead by most, Maxxx (O-T Fagbenle) is a former boy band star desperate to re-establish himself in the celebrity world, if only to win back his supermodel ex-girlfriend Jourdan Dunn (playing herself).
Maxxx’s widely reported drug-addled antics have turned most of his fans against him, although his cousin and superfan-stalker Rose (Helen Monks) is still on his side.
Along with aspiring music manager Tamzin (Pippa Bennett-Warner), Maxxx enlists them both to help relaunch his career and remove the tabloid tarnish from his name.
A potential spanner in the works is the son he adopted at the height of his fame, Amit (Alan Assad), who is also in serious need of some guidance.
The series marks Luti Fagbenle and his company Luti Media’s first foray into television, having made their name producing music videos for the likes of Drake and Beyoncé.
Maxxx premieres on April 2nd at 9.30pm on E4.
