A new series of Embarrassing Bodies is coming to E4 with a new line-up of doctors.
The rebooted medical series will feature new doctors Dr Jane Leonard, Dr Anand Patel and Dr Tosin Ajayi-Sotubo.
Together they will examine, advise, and offer up treatments for the patients’ medical mysteries, while also helping to destigmatise and remove the shame many feel about common conditions that are often ignored and go untreated.
The doctors will focus on major health and sexual health problems, with help from famous faces who will partake in a series of stunts to get the nation talking about these issues.
Along with the consultation room, there will be pop-up confessional clinics dotted around the UK, so patients have a safe space to speak with the doctors and tackle their embarrassing conditions which they may have hidden away.
Meet the new doctors:
Dr Jane Leonard
Dr Leonard is a qualified NHS GP and cosmetic doctor, who has also studied anatomical studies with a focus on the anatomy of the face, head and neck.
She took part in dermatology research in Melbourne, which was published in the prestigious Australian Journal of Dermatology.
She splits her time between clinics in London, Liverpool and Cheshire, treating footballers’ wives, TV stars and patients suffering from a range of conditions.
During the pandemic, Dr Leonard joined the covid escalation centre in Soho to assess how best to manage patients with covid symptoms.
Dr Anand Patel
Dr Patel qualified in medicine back in 2000, before leaving in 2004 to become a biology teacher and then returning back to medicine, qualifying as a GP in 2008.
He currently works as a South London GP three times a week and spends the rest of his time at the Centre for Men’s Health at Harley Street, specialising in health, sexual function and testosterone issues.
His patients often come to him about concerns surrounding erectile dysfunction, painful sex and orgasm problems.
Dr Patel was one of the first doctors in the UK to gain the Fellowship of the European Committee of Sexual Medicine, and trains doctors to become GPs, teaching them the best way to talk to their patients about sex and relationships.
He co-hosts The Pleasure Podcast which discusses physical and emotional relationships in all forms, from sex in a bigger body, to queer sex, to sexuality in the South Asian community.
Dr Tosin Ajayi-Sotubo
Dr Ajayi-Sotubo is a London based NHS and private GP who has extensive experience in primary and secondary care, with a particular interest in public and women’s health and preventative medical care.
She is the founder of Mind Body Doctor, an online and social media educational platform that is an easily accessible space to educate people on how to take care of what matters most.
Working as a doctor, Ajayi-Sotubo has seen the importance of disease prevention and the gap in the nation’s understanding of health.
Dr Ajayi-Sotubo was chosen as a UK NHS Clinical Entrepreneur due to her work on the intersection between healthcare and technology.
The air date for Embarrassing Bodies will be released soon.
