E4 has announced that Australian reality series Married at First Sight Australia will return to our screens for its fifth series in August.
The social experiment follows the same format as the fourth series that has captured the imagination of UK audiences throughout lockdown in July.
11 couples marry without having met each other after being matched by a team of experts, as the ultimate test of whether science can predict a couple’s chemistry.
The matchmakers include neuro-psychotherapist Trisha Stratford, dating expert and psychologist Mel Schilling and relationship psychologist John Aiken.
After their honeymoon, moving in together and meeting the in-laws, the couple has to decide whether or not they wish to continue their relationship.
The final episodes of series four will air this week, with Andy Hills and Vanessa Belvedere, and Simon McQuilland and Alene Khatcherian having become the first couples to renew their vows in episode 23.
Series five of Married at First Sight Australia starts on 10th August at 7.30pm on E4.
