The series follows the success of other DC series Supergirl, Arrow and The Flash on Sky 1

A new series based on iconic DC Comics characters is coming to Sky 1 in the new year.

DC’s Legends of Tomorrow follows the success of Sky’s recent acquisition Supergirl, which launched with a consolidated audience of 1.64 million- the channel’s biggest launch audience in two years.

Doctor Who’s Arthur Darvill will play rogue time-traveller Rip Hunter who, having glimpsed the future threat of the unstoppable Vandal Savage, must put together a crack team of heroes and villains to take on Savage as he the threatens not only the planet, but all of time itself.

The series is based on the iconic DC Comics characters from the same universe as hit Sky series Arrow and The Flash.

With season four of Arrow attracting some of Sky 1’s biggest audiences since 2013, and The Flash being one of Sky 1’s best performing shows of all time, it is hoped DC’s Legends of Tomorrow will capitalise on the audience’s thirst for comic-book dramas.
