The BBC has released new images of upcoming crime drama The Jetty, starring Jenna Coleman (The Sandman).
The four-part series will see Coleman play Ember Manning, a detective drawn back to her home town in Lancashire after a nearby fire requires investigation.
The rolling hills are beautiful as ever, but play host to secrets best left hidden. Manning will have to deal with a podcast journalist and the relationship between a grown man and two underage girls, forcing her to question everything about her home town.
The show delves into issues of sexual morality, identity and the nature of memory, all set in one of the places ignored by the #MeToo movement. Filming took place in and around Lancashire for The Jetty, a production from Firebird Pictures, a BBC Studios production label.
Jenna Coleman is best known for her leading roles in Doctor Who and Victoria. She recently starred in Prime Video series Wilderness, and had a small role in British film Jackdaw.
In an interview with the RTS earlier this year, Coleman praised the “beautiful” scripts and character studies. “There’s a lot based on women and water and echoes, memories, retrospect, past,” she told the RTS.
Filming has wrapped on the series, which will air soon on BBC One.
