The BBC and Amazon Freevee have commissioned Boat Story, a new six part action thriller from the creators of The Tourist.
Harry and Jack Williams have written the series and will also produce under their award-winning All3Media company, Two Brothers Pictures (Fleabag).
Daisy Haggard and Paterson Joseph will star as two hard-up strangers, Janet and Samuel, who stumble across a load of cocaine on a shipwreck.
They can't believe their luck, but after agreeing to sell it and split the money, they quickly find themselves entangled with police, masked hitmen and a suited-and-booted gangster known only as 'The Tailor' (Tcheky Karyo).
Harry and Jack Williams promise another funny and thrilling series, this time set against the beautiful, windswept backdrop of the Yorkshire coastline. They said: “We loved making The Tourist and Boat Story picks up where that left off - tonally at least.
"It’s a morality tale and a thriller and other things that make it hard to define even though we seem to be attempting to define it. It’s full of vulnerable, messed up and eccentric characters and we’ve cast some of our favourite actors to play them.
"We are excited to bring this to life along with our fellow directors.”
The series will also star Joanna Scanlan (After Love), Craig Fairbrass (One Piece) and Phil Daniels (Quadrophenia).
Boat Story is filming now in and around Yorkshire. It will premiere in the UK on BBC One and iPlayer.
