BBC Three and BBC Northern Ireland have announced the new factual entertainment series Stitch, Please!

Hosted by Northern Irish drag queen Blu Hydrangea, who competed in the first series of RuPaul’s Drag Race UK, the series will follow two contributors each week competing to create a different outfit inspired by iconic designs from the worlds of fashion, film, television and cosplay.

With Blu devising the design brief, the young creators will have just 12 hours to make and model an inspiring, creative costume while showcasing their skills and passion on a tiny budget. The winner will be chosen based on how well they match the criteria of creativity, craftmanship and sustainability.

The creators will undergo a transformation both in their looks and their confidence as they strut down the catwalk with their handmade designs.

Blu Hydrangea commented: “Hosting this show is literally a dream job for me, bringing together my love for cosplay, drama, iconic fashion and celebrity culture. I have no idea how the producers are going to pack it all into 30 minutes each week, but I can promise it will be fast paced, highly entertaining and very glamourous.”

The four-part series will be created by Waddell Media, in partnership with BBC Northern Ireland and Northern Ireland Screen.
