Beth Rigby, Senior Political Correspondent at Sky News spent the General Election Campaign hot on the tail of the Prime Minister as she sought re-election
Rigby had a front row seat to the Conservative campaign, as Theresa May’s approval ratings drooped in the aftermath of the controversial social care policy outlined in the Tory manifesto.
Early in the election Sky News publicly accused the Conservative campaign of limiting their access to key cabinet figures and events due to a dislike of their earlier coverage.
As Rigby was on the ground with the Tories, it was her coverage that was most threatened by this exclusion. In her interview with the RTS, Rigby reveals how she and the Sky News team rebuilt that relationship to allow the broadcaster the access they needed to cover the election campaign as it headed into the important final weeks.
