Anita Singh, arts and entertainment editor of the Daily Telegraph, chaired this festive RTS event, looking at Christmas television's past, present and future with Lord Grade, BBC Entertainment Controller Kate Phillips and BBC Click presenter Kate Russell.
Lord Grade gave a glimpse into TV Christmas past with clips of The Morecambe and Wise Show and EastEnders, Kate Phillips looked at the current greats dominating the festive schedule including Strictly Come Dancing and dramas like Call the Midwife, and Kate Russell looked ahead to a Christmas Day with AI and Alexa helping to choose what to watch.
The RTS early evening event, “A TV Christmas Carol”, was held at the Hospital Club in central London on 6 December. The event was produced by Andrew Scadding and Sue Robertson.
