BBC One gives first glimpse of The Capture series two

Holliday Grainger’s DCI Rachel Carey and Paapa Essiedu’s Isaac Turner MP are set to return, while Indira Varma (This Way Up) joins the cast as Newsnight presenter Khadija Khan.

Created and written by Ben Chanan, the new series will continue questioning if in our age of hacking and deepfakery, we can really believe what we see.

DCI Rachel Carey (Grainger) finds herself in the middle of a new conspiracy with a new target. But following the events of series one, she can no longer trust her colleagues.

The high stakes action thriller from writer Joe Barton explores the consequences of what it means to really take charge of your own fate. 

One day, George (Paapa Essiedu) wakes up to discover himself reliving the same day from months ago, fearing he has gone mad. 

All of his recent achievements have been undone, including his accomplishments at work and marriage to the love of his life Sarah (Charly Clive), but only he seems to notice what has happened.

Also joining the cast will be Indira Varma (This Way Up) and Andy Nyman (Hanna), while Ron Perlman (Hellboy), Ben Miles (The Crown), Lia Williams (Riviera), Nigel Lindsay (The Salisbury Poisonings), Cavan Clerkin (Pulling) and Ginny Holder (Avenue 5) will reprise their roles from series one.

Created and written by Ben Chanan, the upcoming series will see Essiedu play Isaac Turner, a young rising star MP with lofty ambitions for the top job.
