BBC One has released 11 first-look images of series two of The Capture.
Holliday Grainger’s DCI Rachel Carey and Paapa Essiedu’s Isaac Turner MP are set to return, while Indira Varma (This Way Up) joins the cast as Newsnight presenter Khadija Khan.
Created and written by Ben Chanan, the new series will continue questioning if in our age of hacking and deepfakery, we can really believe what we see.
DCI Rachel Carey (Grainger) finds herself in the middle of a new conspiracy with a new target. But following the events of series one, she can no longer trust her colleagues.
The BBC says that the six-parter will escalate from the CCTV thriller of series one, featuring ‘invisible’ assassins, deepfake technology, the ever-rising tension between government and Big Tech, and media corruption.
Andy Nyman (Hanna), Charlie Murphy (Peaky Blinders) and Rob Yang (Succession) are also joining the cast alongside Ron Perlman (Hand of God), Ben Miles (Devils), Lia Williams (The Crown), Cavan Clerkin (The Last Kingdom), Ginny Holder (Avenue5) and Nigel Lindsay (The Salisbury Poisonings) who are reprising their roles.
The Capture will return to BBC One and iPlayer in August 2022.
