Nominations announced for the RTS Craft & Design Awards 2024

Across the 29 hotly contested categories, the BBC leads the way with 32 nominations and dominates the Design – Titles and Director – Multicamera categories by receiving all three nominations for both. Next up is Netflix who received 16 nominations and garnered all three nods in the Sound – Scripted category. Netflix’s hit drama Eric, produced by SISTER and Little Chick, gained the most recognition for an individual programme with a total of five nominations.

RTS Craft & Design Awards 2024 open for entries

The winners will be presented at the awards ceremony taking place on Monday 2 December 2024 at the London Hilton on Park Lane. For this year, Emma Gormley, Managing Director of Daytime at ITV Studios, has been appointed as the new Chair of the RTS Craft & Design Awards.

For the upcoming edition of the Craft & Design Awards, a new category has been added to this year’s criteria, Multicamera Work – Sport, which aims to recognise the skillsets needed in this key genre of programming.

Nominations for the RTS Craft & Design Awards 2023 announced

The awards celebrate excellence in broadcast television, highlighting the extensive range of skills and processes that are involved in programme making, welcoming entries from both broadcasters and individual crafts people. The prestigious awards ceremony will be held on Monday 4th December at the London Hilton on Park Lane.

Working Lives: Meet TV composer Samuel Sim

Samuel Sim won two RTS Craft & Design Awards in 2015 for his original score and title music for ITV period drama Home Fires, and another last year for the title music of The Bay. The judges described Sim’s theme as “haunting and atmospheric”, giving “a Nordic noir feel to Morecambe”, the setting of the ITV crime drama.
