DI Ray Season 2 Premiere Screening

The acclaimed six-part police thriller has been written by actress and screenwriter Maya Sondhi who will join us on the night along with executive producer, Madonna Baptiste

Set in Birmingham, the new series will see Leicester-born DI Ray investigating the murder of a high-profile criminal. Sensitive ethnic issues relating to the case ignite racial tensions, causing a personal conflict for Rachita, both as a British Asian woman and as a police officer, which she must fight to prevent a turf war erupting on the streets of Birmingham…

Midlands Careers Fair 2024

This is a ‘must’ for anyone aged 16+ considering a career in television and film production (and associated fields).

Our exhibition hall will be filled with experts ready to answer questions to help young people decide what routes to take into the industry. There will be the chance to meet representatives from across the industry including BBC, ITV, independent production companies, specialist training organisations and crew databases. And we’ll be holding special sessions where you can learn all about the creative landscape in the Midlands.

The Baird Lectures 2024 Shaheen Baig and Richard Armitage

Casting Director Shaheen Baig is renowned for her ability to find and nurture new and diverse acting talent and rising new filmmakers for both film and television.

Her many credits across the industry include How to Build a Girl, Everybody’s Talking about Jamie, Calm with Horses, The Nest, Three Girls, Black Mirror, The Third Day National Treasure and Strike.  

She is also the casting director for all seasons of Peaky Blinders and Man Like Mobeen.    

Joan Premiere Screening

Inspired by the London jewel thief, Joan Hannington and events from her life, Joan is an exhilarating and emotional new six-part series created and written by the acclaimed screenwriter Anna Symon (The Essex Serpent, Mrs Wilson) and directed by BAFTA award-winner Richard Laxton (Rain Dogs, The Thief, His Wife and the Canoe, Mrs Wilson).

Phoenix Rise Series 3 Premiere

This coming-of-age drama follows a group of misfits who form an unbreakable bond as they navigate the trials and tribulations of school life in the Midlands.

We are delighted to invite you to the premiere of series 3 where we will be joined by a stellar panel of cast and creators for a Q & A after the screening.

Ricky Sue and a Trip or Two

The legends that are Ricky and Sue are joining RTS Midlands for a very special event where they will share stories about their new series, Ricky, Sue and a Trip or Two. The duo will be taking three road trips, to show each other some of the places that shaped their lives. And, like any good road trip, there’ll be some diversions along the way, as they explore new places, try new things and meet some famous friends.

The event will take place at Midlands Art Centre on Wednesday 20th March at 7pm for a special screening of the Midlands episode of the series.
