Bob and Nick - From School to Screen
In conversation with his good friend and BBC Midlands Today presenter Nick Owen, Bob will share stories from his time as one of ITV's longest-serving news anchors.
Bob has presented news in the Central region since 1973 and has covered every single kind of story - from the Birmingham pub bombings to the closure of the world-famous Longbridge car works - as well as fronting up many charity marathons.
This promises to be an entertaining trip down memory lane from two of the regio'ns best loved personalities.

Find out about the new BBC Apprentice Hub – supporting creative talent and business in the West Midlands
The BBC Apprentice Hub is a new initiative, which will be opening for applications soon. The pilot scheme will be launching in the West Midlands, the region in the UK with the youngest population and a diverse talent pool. The BBC’s Apprentice Hub will grow skills in the creative sector by placing apprentices with local small and medium sized employers. It will provide a vocational training programme with a formal qualification at the end, accredited by an awarding body, giving the successful candidates a flexible approach to learning and getting work experience.
Membership of The Union Club
RTS Members are able to make use of the Union Club and may bring guests to the restaurant and bar for breakfast, lunch and dinner bookings.
The Union Club was set up in 1993 by ex-North Sea oil rigger Pete Cross and Chef Carolyn Dawson, and both are (for their sins) still at the helm of the Club today. Opening a private members club had been a long held dream for the duo, and they took the plunge after buying a dilapidated building at 50 Greek Street, Soho.
